Description: Deciduous, unlike the Bald Cypress, Montezuma Cypress trees rarely produce knees from the roots. It is very drought-tolerant and fast-growing but does better with climates that are rainy throughout the year or with a high summer rainfall. Persistent and evergreen in extreme South Texas, but semi-evergreen or deciduous farther north.
